Find a passage or part of the first act that was meaningful to you from ACT 1 and connects to an essential question of your choosing. Post that part only on your blog. Passage:
The sin of my ingratitude even now
was heavy on me: thou are so far before,
That swiftest wing of recompense is slow
To overtake thee. would thou hadst less deserved;

This drew me in because it makes me think of jealousy or looking at someone who has not made it yet or even someone who got somewhere and did not deserve to be there. I think it is important because it talks about jealousy and Macbeth was jealous of the king and ended up killing him to take over his place.

Yes Macbeth was jealous of the king. Why do you think that. Who else was he jealous of? can you expand adn tell me why. What doe s he want to achieve.

ReplyDeleteHaving power makes you proud and on top of people. Not having power makes you envy the other that has power.
Macbeth wants to achieve power and he does. But in the end he gets killed for his power.
How does he achieve power? Then in the end he gets killed because he had too much power. DO you think it was becasue he used his power in a negative way? He lusted for power and did not care about others? Sometimes power can be good don't you think if it is used in the right way. Look at some great leaders.
ReplyDeleteMacbeth achieves power because he killed the king, Macbeth was the second most powerful from the king. Macbeth wanted all of the power so he decided to take the king's power and take it on as his own.
ReplyDeleteMacbeth got killed because he used his power in the wrong way. He lusted for power and did not care for others, he lusted for it and it took over him and it made him blind. Power is an amazing thing, I love power and knowing that people can get power if they work hard for the respect of power. For example, Barak Obama, black and white races were totally against each other. The blacks had no rights and now he is the President. Now everyone is equal, not everywhere but it is better than what it has been in the past.
